Adult Programs
Build the skills for everyday life.
Positive Foundations offers 3 adult dog programs, the Hands-On Program, the Guided Program, and the Take the Lead Program.
All three follow a structured curriculum focused on the skills dogs need to navigate the real world. Your dog will learn foundational behaviors like sit, down, and loose-leash walking, along with practical everyday skills like leave it, wait, and polite greetings, all while building confidence, communication, and a strong foundation for the future.
Hands-On Program
You do the training. I show you how.
You'll do all of the training while having guidance and support from an experienced trainer every step of the way. I'll teach you how to communicate clearly with your dog, use effective reinforcement, build reliable behaviors, and work through challenges as they come up.
The Hands-On Program is perfect for owners who want to do their dog's training themselves with an experienced trainer in their corner to show them how. You'll be the one holding the leash, delivering the reinforcement, and building the relationship. I'll provide the knowledge, guidance, and support to help you do it successfully.
With the Hands-On Program, you'll get:
- Owner-led learning: I teach you how to train your dog, so you learn how to teach each behavior from start to finish, and feel confident doing it on your own.
- 7 training sessions: You'll actively train your dog during each session while I coach you through the process.
- Structured curriculum: We’ll work step-by-step through foundational skills, manners, and confidence-building, so each new skill builds on what you’ve already learned.
- Personalized coaching: Get guidance on timing, reinforcement, communication, and troubleshooting based on you and your dog.
- Real-world practice: At least one session takes place at a public location so you can practice applying your skills outside the home.
By the end of the program, you'll have more than a well-trained dog. You'll have the knowledge and confidence to keep working as a team long after the program ends.
$595
7-session program, scheduled weekly or twice weekly. Includes one socialization session at a public location.
Guided Program
I teach the skill. You build on it.
Some dogs learn best when they can first work with a trainer who knows exactly how to teach the behavior. The Guided Program relieves the learning curve by giving your dog that one-on-one trainer time, while keeping you an active part of the process.
I start by teaching your dog the skill while explaining what I'm doing and why. Once your dog understands the behavior, you step in and take over, with my guidance there to help you get the same results.
The Guided Program is perfect for owners who want reliable progress without handing off their role in their dog's training. You get to build on a foundation that's already established, then learn how to maintain and strengthen it.
The Guided Program includes:
- Trainer-guided learning: I teach the behavior while explaining my timing, reinforcement, body language, and decision-making. Once your dog understands the behavior, you take over while I guide you through the process.
- 7 joint training sessions: Each session includes me teaching your dog new skills, then coaching you through how to maintain and build on those skills. We work together to accomplish your goals.
- Troubleshooting and guidance: Learn how to recognize what's getting in the way and what to do when things don't go as planned.
- Real-world practice: At least one session takes place at a public location, giving you and your dog an opportunity to practice skills outside the home.
By the end of the program, you won't just have a dog who knows what to do, you'll know how to help your dog succeed.

Take the Lead Program
I take the lead. You enjoy the progress.
Balancing work, family, and dog training can feel overwhelming. You want a well-mannered dog, but finding the time and energy to consistently train can be difficult.
The Take the Lead Program is designed for busy dog owners who want reliable skills and better manners without having to dedicate hours of their own time to training. I build the behaviors during dedicated day-training sessions, then show you exactly how to maintain them when we're together. Your dog gets focused, trainer-led attention while you get your time back, and when it's time for you to step in, you won't be left wondering what to do.
With the Take the Lead Program, you'll get:
- Trainer-led learning: Your dog receives focused, one-on-one training following a structured curriculum designed to build foundational skills, manners, and confidence.
- 5 day-training sessions: I come to your home during a designated daytime window and work directly with your dog, building skills and practicing them in real-life situations while you go about your day.
- 2 transfer sessions: Once your dog has a solid foundation, we'll meet at a time that works for you to transfer those skills back to you. I'll show you how to maintain the behaviors and keep your progress going.
- Real-world practice: At least one session takes place at a public location so your dog's skills aren't limited to the home.
By the end of the program, your dog will have a stronger foundation of reliable behaviors, and you'll know exactly how to maintain and build on the progress we've made together.
